Ashland University's women's basketball team continues to creep up toward the top five in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The latest poll, released on Tuesday (Nov. 26) afternoon, has the Eagles slotted at No. 6 – moving up one spot from No. 7 a week ago, and two spots from No. 8 in the preseason. Ashland is 5-0 entering December, and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, at Lake Superior State on Dec. 5.
Tuesday's poll marks the 72nd consecutive time Ashland has been in the WBCA Top 25. All-time as a Top-25 team in the coaches' poll, Ashland is 204-15 (.932).
Ashland is one of two GLIAC teams in this week's poll, along with No. 3 Grand Valley State. The Midwest Region boasts three of the top six teams in the nation – No. 1 Drury, the No. 3 Lakers and the No. 6 Eagles.
2019-20 WBCA RANKINGS: No. 8 (preseason), No. 7 (Nov. 19), No. 6 (Nov. 26).
