For the second consecutive week, Ashland University's women's basketball team is slotted at No. 6 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Eagles (5-0) will start 2019-20 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with two road games this week – Thursday (Dec. 5) at 5:30 p.m. at Lake Superior State (3-2), and Saturday (Dec. 7) at 7:30 p.m. at Ferris State (5-1).
The latest WBCA poll released on Tuesday (Dec. 3) is the 73rd consecutive poll in which Ashland has been a Top 25 squad. All-time as a Top 25 team in the coaches' poll, Ashland is 204-15 (.932).
For the second straight ranking, Ashland is one of two GLIAC teams in the Top 25, along with No. 3 Grand Valley State. And, for the second straight poll, the Midwest Region boasts three of the top six teams in the nation – No. 1 Drury, the No. 3 Lakers and the No. 6 Eagles.
2019-20 WBCA RANKINGS: No. 8 (preseason), No. 7 (Nov. 19), No. 6 (Nov. 26 and Dec. 3).
