Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at National Preview

The Ashland University women's golf team took to the links in the Grand Valley State Division II National Preview on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28), coming away with an impressive fourth place finish. The Eagles finised just nine strokes back of first place. The 26 team tournament was hosted on the campus of GVSU at The Meadows golf course.

Ashland completed the two day tournament with a team score of 635. Grand Valley State and Florida Tech finished in a deadlock atop the leaderboard at 626. The two teams went into a sudden death playoff where Florida Tech came away on top. Nova Southeastern finished in third place with a score of 634, just one stroke better than AU's 635. The defending national champion Lynn finished five strokes back of Ashland in fifth place.

Abby Tepe owned the lowest round for the Eagles with a 74. Her two day score of 152 was tied for the third best score in the tournament. Ali Green shot a 155 and finished in eighth place. Rounding out the national preview for AU was Kaitlin Neumann (162), Madison Musick (166), and Emily Jereb (182).

The Eagles will return to action on October 12th  & 13th  at the University of Findlay's Beall Fall Classic.
