Eagles Second At NC4K Classic, Green Earns Medalist

The Ashland University women's golf team finished off its second and final day of the NC4K College Classic on Monday (March 30), coming away with a second-place finish.

The Eagles shot a 634 and finished just three strokes back of the 15th-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers, who won the tournament with a 631.

Eagle junior Ali Green was the tournament medalist after shooting a 72 on Sunday and an 80 on Monday. Her 152 was two strokes better than Wheeling Jesuit's Kasey Frazier and Findlay's Michele Schambs, who tied for second with a 154.

Sophomore Kaitlin Neumann turned in a 161 over her two days of competition, earning her a ninth-place finish. Seniors Abby Tepe and Madison Musick both finished right on the heels of Neumann in the individual standings. Tepe collected a 163 and earned an 11th-place finish. Musick's round of 75 on Monday was the best recorded by an Eagle. She landed in 13th place with a score of 164.

Sophomore Emily Jereb was consistent with rounds of 83 and 84, earning herself a 22nd-place finish.

The Eagles will travel to Tiffin for its Spring Invitational on April 12.
