Eagles Remain Third With Two Rounds Down At GLIACs

The Ashland University women's golf team maintained its third-place status on Saturday (April 25) at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships at the Findlay Country Club.

The top five teams all remained the same from Round 1 to Round 2. Grand Valley State has the top spot with a 609, five strokes better than Findlay, who has scored a 614. AU sits in third place with a combined score of 627. The Eagles have a commanding 15-stroke lead over fourth-place Ferris State, who sits at 642.

Rounding out the top five is Northwood, which owns a score of 647.

AU junior Ali Green had an impressive round of 75 on Saturday. Combining with her 79 on Friday, she currently ranks seventh on the individuals list with a 154. Senior Madison Musick shot a 78 in Round 2, and is tied for 14th place overall with a 159.

A trio of 79s belong to sophomores Kaitlin Neumann and Emily Jereb and senior Abby Tepe.  

The Eagles will look to rally on Sunday (April 26), the final day of the GLIAC Tournament. Play will get underway at 9 a.m.
