Day 1 is in the books.
The Ashland University women's golf team completed the first day of the NCAA Division II East Super Regional on Sunday (May 3) tied for sixth place, seven strokes back of first.
The tournament, contested at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, remains wide open after the first day of competition, as the entire nine-team field is separated by just 11 strokes.
The University of Indianapolis currently has the top spot, as the Greyhounds shot a 312 on the afternoon. Missouri-St. Louis sits second, just three strokes back of Indianapolis, with a 315. The Eagles carded a 319 on Sunday, and are just seven strokes out of first place.
AU senior Madison Musick turned in the Eagles' lowest round of 78. She recorded birdies on holes 3, 6 and 15, which was fourth-most on the day. Musick is tied for 12th place overall.
Junior Ali Green recorded a round of 79 and is tied for 18th overall. Both senior Abby Tepe and sophomore Emily Jereb scored rounds of 81 for the Eagles. Sophomore Kaitlin Neumann posted a round of 86.
AU will be back on the links for Day 2 of the tournament on Monday (May 4) at Cog Hill.
