AU Women End GVSU Invite With Fourth-Place Finish

After the first round of Grand Valley State's Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 26), Ashland University's women's golf team shot a 319 and was in fourth place.

After the second and final round on Sunday (Sept. 27), nothing changed for the Eagles. 

AU shot another team round of 319 on Day 2, and finished the 13-team tournament in fourth place. Missouri-St. Louis, on the strength of a team round of 302 on Sunday, won the event with a two-day total of 610, followed by GVSU (617) and Findlay (620).

Two Eagle golfers finished the invite in the Top 10 individually. Junior Kaitlin Neumann placed in a tie for fourth after a 73-79—152 showing, and senior Ali Green was tied for ninth at 75-80—155. 

Rounding out the AU effort were junior Emily Jereb (tied for 23rd, 84-79—163) and freshmen Monica Torda (46th, 87-85—172) and Morgan Eib (tied for 47th, 92-81—173).

Ashland returns to Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville for the Ashland University Invitational, Oct. 3-4.
