Ashland University's women's golf team began the spring championship season with a tied-for-a-second-place finish at the 10-team Southwest Minnesota State Spring Invitational in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
The Eagles had a team score of 320-311—631. Lindenwood finished at 299-290—589, and Western New Mexico ended tied with AU at 324-307—631.
Leading the way for Ashland was senior Ali Green, who placed fifth individually with a two-day score of six-over 75-75—150. Freshman Morgan Eib placed in a tie for 16th at 87-74—161, while junior Emily Jereb was tied for 18th with 78-84—162.
Freshman Monica Torda ended the two-day tourney at 80-82—162, while freshman Kayleigh McHugh was 87-80—167.
The Eagles will return to the links on March 19-20 at the Perry Park Spring Fling in Perry Park, Ky.
