AU Women Tied For Fifth After Day 1 Of NC4K Classic

Ashland University's women's golf team is in a tie for fifth place after Day 1 of the 19-team NC4K College Classic on Sunday (April 3) in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Eagles are tied with Merrimack College with a team score of 342. Grand Valley State is the team leader at 299, followed by Findlay (323), Northwood (329) and California, Pa. (332).

Junior Kaitlin Neumann paced the Ashland first-day effort with a round of 78, good for a tie for eighth place individually.

Freshman Kayleigh McHugh, playing as an individual and not added to the team total, fired an 84, followed by senior Ali Green's 85.

Rounding out the AU effort on Sunday were freshmen Morgan Eib (88) and Monica Torda (91), and junior Emily Jereb (93).

The Eagles will play in the second and final day of the NC4K Classic on Monday (April 4).
