Ashland University senior Ali Green kept up her standout play of late in Day 1 of the 2016 NCAA Division II Super Region 1 in Springfield, Ill., on Monday (May 2), firing a 2-under 70 to sit in a tie for second place individually.

The Eagles are fifth as a team after the first day of the three-day Super Regional. AU finished with a team score of 315. Indianapolis (296), Grand Valley State (302) and Findlay (304) occupy the first three spots with 36 holes to go.

The top three teams and top three individuals not with a team will advance to the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, May 18-21 at CommonGround Golf Course in Aurora, Colo.

Green, who was 3-under on the back nine thanks to three birdies and six pars, is three shots back of Findlay's Kasey Petty (5-under 67) through the tournament's first 18 holes.
