Eagle Women Begin 2016 At Youngstown State

Ashland University's women's golf team began the 2016-17 season on Monday (Sept. 5) at the Youngstown State University Kickoff Invitational at Mill Creek Park Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.

The Eagles shot a team round of 312, 32 shots over par. The host Penguins lead after the first 18 holes with a score of 301, followed by Cleveland State (305), Indiana State (308), Dayton (310), Northern Kentucky (311) and AU.

Sophomores Morgan Eib and Monica Torda each led the Eagle effort with matching 77s, while senior Kaitlin Neumann fired a 78. Sophomore Kayleigh McHugh had an 80, followed by freshmen Logan Pottorf (85), Anna Schatschneider (91) and Claire Coughenour (95), and senior Kelsey Yantz (96).

The Eagles will play Day 2 of the YSU Kickoff Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 6) at 9 a.m.
