Eagles Complete 2016-17 Opener At Youngstown State

Ashland University's women's golf team has completed its first 2016-17 tournament, finishing in a tie for fifth place at the Youngstown State University Kickoff Invitational at Mill Creek Park Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.

On Tuesday (Sept. 6), the Eagles shot a team round of 320 to finish with a two-day total of 632 – finishing in a tie with Northern Kentucky. Indiana State (605) won the event, followed by the host Penguins (612), Cleveland State (617) and Dayton (623).

Senior Kaitlin Neumann fired a second-round 76, ending the tournament tied for eighth individually with a mark of 78-76—154. Sophomore Monica Torda was tied for 10th (77-78—155), while sophomore Morgan Eib tied for 19th (77-81—158).

Rounding out the Eagles' field were sophomore Kayleigh McHugh (80-88—168), freshmen Anna Schatschneider (91-85—176) and Logan Pottorf (91-85—176) and senior Kelsey Yantz (96-97—193).
