Eagle Women Complete Day 1 At Laker Fall Invite

The Ashland University women's golf team sits in ninth place after Day 1 of the 19-team Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite in Allendale, Mich., on Saturday (Sept. 24).

The Eagles finished the first day with a team score of 330. Host Grand Valley State leads the field at 300, followed by Indianapolis (306) and Missouri-St. Louis (309).

Senior Kaitlin Neumann shot a 3-over round of 75 to pace Ashland. She is in a tie for third place individually after the first 18 holes. At the season-opening Youngstown State University Kickoff Invitational, Neumann finished tied for eighth individually.

Ashland's top five also included sophomore Monica Torda (83), sophomore Morgan Eib (86), freshman Anna Schatschneider (86) and sophomore Kayleigh McHugh (89).

UP NEXT: Second and final day of the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite on Sunday (Sept. 25).
