Eagle Women Place 11th At GVSU Invite

Playing in the second and final round of the Grand Valley State Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite on Sunday (Sept. 25), Ashland University's women's golf team finished 11th in the 19-team field.

The Eagles' two-day total was 330-337—667. The host Lakers won the event at 300-298—598, while Findlay was second (310-294—604) and Indianapolis third (306-301—607).

Pacing Ashland for a second consecutive day was senior Kaitlin Neumann, who ended the invite at 75-79—154. Neumann finished in a tie for 15th individually.

Sophomores Monica Torda (83-87—170), Morgan Eib (86-84—170) and Kayleigh McHugh (89-87—176) made up spots No. 2, 3 and 4 for the Eagles. Freshman Anna Schatschneider (86-93—179) rounded out the Ashland field.

UP NEXT: The Eagles begin October with the two-day Northwood Invitational on Oct. 3-4 at the Midland (Mich.) Country Club.
