AU Women Finish Ninth At Findlay Fall Classic

Shaving 10 strokes of its first-day total, Ashland University's women's golf team finished ninth following the second and final round of the Findlay-Beall Fall Classic on Monday (Oct. 10).

The Eagles ended at 337-327—664. Missouri-St. Louis (309-307—616) won the event, followed by the host Oilers (310-315—625) and Grand Valley State (311-315—626).

Leading the AU charge was freshman Anna Schatschneider, who followed up a season-best round of 83 on Sunday (Oct. 9) with a lower score of 81 on Monday. Her 164 total put her in a tie for 28th individually.

Senior Kaitlin Neumann and sophomore Monica Torda each finished with a two-day score of 165, good for a tie for 32nd place. Sophomores Morgan Eib (tied for 50th, 170) and Kayleigh McHugh (tied for 58th, 173) rounded out the Ashland effort.

UP NEXT: The Eagles will conclude the fall portion of the 2016-17 schedule on Oct. 24-25 at the Trevecca Nazarene Fall Invitational.
