Eagle Women Start Vegas Classic With Round Of 334

In its first round of the 2017 spring season, Ashland University's women's golf team fired a 334, 16 shots off the lead after Day 1 of the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday (March 5).

Senior Kaitlin Neumann posted a team-low round of plus-8 80, followed by sophomore Morgan Eib (83), redshirt freshman Krystal Hu (84) and sophomore Monica Torda (87).

Rounding out the Ashland day were sophomore Kayleigh McHugh (89), freshman Anna Schatschneider (90) and freshman Logan Pottorf (94).

The Eagles are in a tie for seventh place in the 14-team field after Day 1. Missouri St.-Louis is first (318), followed by Lee (324) and Regis (327).

UP NEXT: Day 2 of the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Monday (March 6).
