Neumann, Hu Pace Field After Day 1 At SVSU

The present and the future of Ashland University women's golf was on display on Day 1 of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Saturday (March 18) in Georgetown, Ky.

Thanks to matching 79s by senior Kaitlin Neumann and redshirt freshman Krystal Hu, the Eagles are tied for first place in the 19-team invitational with a team score of 322. Grand Valley State also is at 322, while Northwood is in third at 328.

Both Neumann and Hu are in first place on the individual leaderboard going into Day 2. Sophomore Monica Torda is one shot back at 80, good for a tie for third.

Rounding out the Ashland effort were sophomore Morgan Eib (84) and freshmen Logan Pottorf (95) and Anna Schatschneider (96).

UP NEXT: Day 2 of the SVSU Spring Invitational on Sunday (March 19).
