Eagles Finish NC4K First Round In Fifth Place

Following the first 18 holes of the NC4K College Classic on Sunday (April 2) at Blacklick, Ohio, Ashland University's women's golf team placed fifth in the 18-team field.

The Eagles' team score of 319 was 25 strokes behind first-place Indianapolis (294). Grand Valley State (306) is second, and Findlay (315) is third.

Senior Kaitlin Neumann fired an opening-round 6-over 78, good for a tie for 13th place individually. Redshirt freshman Krystal Hu, the reigning Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's golf Athlete of the Week, followed at 79 in a tie for 18th place.

Rounding out Ashland's starting five were sophomore Morgan Eib (80), freshman Anna Schatschneider (82) and sophomore Monica Torda (90).
