Neumann, Hu Lead AU Women To 315 At Cav Classic Day 1

On the first day of the two-day Cav Classic at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio, on Monday (April 10), Ashland University's women's golf team fired a 315 to place fourth in the 12-team field.

Senior Kaitlin Neumann and redshirt freshman Krystal Hu continue to pace the Eagles during the spring campaign. Neumann's first-round 75 is good for fifth place individually, while Hu's 76 is good for a tie for sixth.

Sophomores Monica Torda (81, tied for 25th), Morgan Eib (83, tied for 33rd) and Kayleigh McHugh (86, 44th) rounded out the Ashland effort through the first 18 holes.

Northern Michigan leads the field after one day with a team score of 307, followed by Grand Valley State (309) and California, Pa. (311).

Glenmoor Country Club is where the 2017 NCAA Super Regional will take place on May 8-10.
