Eagles Tied For Eighth After Super Regional Day 1

On Day 1 of the 2017 NCAA Division II Super Region 1 tournament on Monday (May 8) at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio, Ashland University's women's golf team finished in a tie for eighth in the 12-team field.

The Eagles ended the first 18 holes with a team score of 330. Indianapolis (290), Grand Valley State (300) and Findlay (308) are the top three teams heading into Day 2.

The low three teams and the low three individuals not on those teams from each of the four super regionals will advance to the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships, May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

Senior Kaitlin Neumann led the Ashland effort on Monday with an 8-over-par round of 80. She is tied for 27th individually following a round which included back-to-back birdies on holes No. 11 and 12.

Redshirt freshman Krystal Hu ended Day 1 with a round of 81, which included a birdie on hole No. 17. Freshman Anna Schatschneider carded an 82 and fired birdies on holes No. 8 and 11, sophomore Morgan Eib shot an 86 with a birdie on hole No. 10 and sophomore Monica Torda ended the day with an 88.
