Eagle Women Finish Seventh At Super Region 1

On the third and final day of the 2017 Super Region 1 tournament on Wednesday (May 10) at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio, Ashland University's women's golf team finished seventh amongst the 12-team field.

Wednesday's 18 holes saw the Eagle women fired a round of 319 to finish at 330-318-319—967. Leading the charge once again was senior Kaitlin Neumann, who ended the tournament with a round of 76 to finish in a tie for 12th place at 80-72-76—228.

Neumann, who had three birdies on Wednesday and eight in the tournament, finished with her best individual placement and lowest three-day score of the four super regionals she competed in as an Eagle.

Freshman Anna Schatschneider finished as the Eagles' No. 2 golfer on the week, firing a final-round 80 to end at 82-78-80—240 and in a tie for 34th individually.

Right behind Schatschneider was redshirt freshman Krystal Hu, whose 82-81-78 showing put her in a tie for 37th. Sophomores Morgan Eib (tied for 53rd, 86-87-85—258) and Monica Torda (tied for 57th, 88-87-88—263) rounded out the Ashland effort.

Indianapolis won the team super regional title at 290-293-292—875, followed by Grand Valley State (300-307-305—912) and Missouri-St. Louis (312-298-307—917).
