Eagles Finish Fifth At SVSU Spring Invite

Ashland University's women's golf team finished the two-day Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational where it was after the first 18 holes, placing fifth in the 17-team field after Sunday's (March 18) action at Georgetown, Ky.

The Eagles ended at 318-323—641. Grand Valley State (290-288—578) won the team title, followed by the host Cardinals (322-313—635), Northwood (314-326—640) and Walsh (315-325—640).

Sophomore Krystal Hu remained in the top 10 individually, ending in a tie for seventh at plus-8 77-75—152. Freshman Hannah Lemons tied for 14th on the player leaderboard at 78-79—157.

Rounding out the Ashland contingent were junior Monica Torda (tied for 33rd, 83-81—164), freshman Sophie Hemleben (tied for 50th, 80-89—169) and sophomore Logan Pottorf (tied for 69th, 89-88-177).

UP NEXT: Saturday (March 24) and Sunday (March 25) at the Perry Park Spring Fling in Perry Park, Ky.
