Hu, Eagle Women Finish High At NC4K College Classic

Sophomore Krystal Hu and the Ashland University women's golf team finished strong on Day 2 of the NC4K College Classic, Tuesday (April 10) in Blacklick, Ohio.

Hu placed in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard, carding a second-day 1-over-par 73 to end at 78-73—151. Hu recorded back-to-back birdies on holes No. 14 and 15, as she finished eight strokes behind the winner, Grand Valley State's Katie Chipman (71-72—143).

As a team, the Eagle women took third place in the 16-team field at 312-313—625. The Lakers were the team titlist (305-294—599), while Northern Michigan was runner-up (307-297—604).

Freshman Hannah Lemons was next on the Ashland rolls, tying for 18th individually at 77-80—157. Following close behind were freshman Sophie Hemleben in a tie for 20th (77-81—158), and junior Monica Torda in a tie for 23rd (80-79—159).

Rounding out the Eagle lineup was sophomore Logan Pottorf (tied for 67th, 86-89—175).

UP NEXT: Saturday (April 14) and Sunday (April 15), hosting the Ashland Invitational at Ashland Golf Club.
