Eagle Women Place Ninth At Laker Fall Invite

The Ashland University women's golf team completed the two-day, 36-hole Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invitational on Sunday (Sept. 30).

Finishing the weekend at 341-341—682, the Eagle women were ninth in the 13-team field. Indianapolis (306-304—610) was the team titlist, followed by host Grand Valley State (312-305—617) and Missouri-St. Louis (326-315—641).

Sophomore Sophie Hemleben was the Ashland pacesetter, finishing in 14th place (76-83—159) individually, while sophomore Hannah Lemons placed in 27th (83-82—165).

Rounding out the Eagles' team play were senior Monica Torda (T-58th, 88-89—177), freshman Sophia Lowe (94-87—181) and junior Logan Pottorf (77th, DNP-94). Playing as an individual was freshman Leah Burtscher (75th, 99-102—201).

Ashland's women will continue the non-championship portion of 2018-19 on Oct. 7-8 at the Bing Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio.
