Eagle Women Play First Day Of Beall Fall Classic

Starting a stretch of three October tournaments to round out the non-championship portion of the 2018-19 schedule, Ashland University's women's golf team competed in Day 1 of the William Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio, on Sunday (Oct. 7).

The Eagle women played the tournament's first 18 holes on Sunday, placing in a tie for 14th in the 15-team field at 337. Missouri-St. Louis is the first-round team leader (295), followed by the host Oilers (300) and Grand Valley State (302).

Sophomore Hannah Lemons had the low AU round on Sunday at 6-over 78, and is in a tie for 24th individually after 18 holes. Another sophomore, Sophie Hemleben, shot an 84 and is tied for 61st, while senior Monica Torda carded an 86 and is tied for 70th.

Junior Logan Pottorf and freshman Cece Dillon each are tied for 80th with matching 89s, while freshman Sophia Lowe played as an individual and is tied for 77th with an 88.

Ashland's women will play the second and final day of the Beall Fall Classic on Monday (Oct. 8) in Findlay.
