Closing out the first tournament of the 2019 spring championship season, Ashland University's women's golf team finished in seventh place at the 23-team Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational in Georgetown, Ky., on Sunday (March 17).
The Eagles ended the weekend at 322-322—644. Findlay handily won the team title at 304-304—608, followed by Tiffin (308-317—625), Northwood (305-324—629) and Wayne State (314-319—633).
Sophomore Sophie Hemleben finished with Ashland's low score on the weekend, placing in a tie for 14th place individually at 75-80—155. A second-round 74 allowed sophomore Hannah Lemons to move up to a tie for 16th at 82-74—156.
The Eagles' team play was rounded out by senior Monica Torda (tied for 39th, 79-84—163), junior Logan Pottorf (tied for 70th, 86-84—170) and freshman Sophia Lowe (tied for 103rd, 93-86—179).
Seeing time in the tourney as an individual was freshman Cece Dillon (tied for 70th, 87-83—170).
Ashland's women will be back in action on April 8-9 at the NC4K Classic in Blacklick, Ohio.
