AU Women Place 14th At NC4K College Classic

Finishing play at the NC4K Classic in Blacklick, Ohio, on Tuesday (April 9), Ashland University's women's golf team placed in a tie for 14th in the 19-team field.

After 36 holes at the Classic, the Eagles' final tally was 335-347—682. Sophomore Sophie Hemleben was the AU leader throughout, ending in a tie for 27th individually at 78-82—160.

Senior Monica Torda was tied for 55th (85-85—170), with junior Logan Pottorf placing 66th (84-89—173). Rounding out the Eagle five in team play were freshmen Sophia Lowe (tied for 77th, 88-91—179) and Cece Dillon (tied for 88th, 91-93—184).

Playing as an individual was freshman Leah Burtscher (99th, 103-96—199).

Indianapolis won the Classic as a team, finishing at 306-293—599. The Greyhounds won by nine strokes over Findlay (301-307—608), while host Ohio Dominican was third (307-323—630).

Taking medalist honors was Indianapolis' Pilar Echeverria, who was 1-under-par 72-71—143.

Ashland's women will play on Saturday and Sunday (April 13-14) at the Walsh Cav Classic at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.
