LINK – ASHLAND UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S GOLF PAGE
On Day 2 of the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday (April 20) at Stonehedge Golf Club – North in Augusta, Mich., Ashland University's women's golf team placed ninth out of 10 teams.
Sophomore Sophie Hemleben led the Eagle charge with a two-day total of 79-83—162, including a birdie on hole No. 15 on Saturday, to finish in a tie for 17th place individually. Senior Monica Torda finished tied for 24th thanks to a 78-87—165 finish, and birdied No. 11 on Saturday.
Rounding out the Ashland effort were junior Logan Pottorf (93-87—180, tied for 46th), freshman Cece Dillon (88-92—180, tied for 46th) and freshman Sophia Lowe (93-90—183, tied for 49th).
The top four teams after 36 holes will advance to Sunday's (April 21) semifinal match play. Those teams are Grand Valley State (299-291—590), Davenport (328-308—636), Northwood (319-318—637) and Wayne State (319-319—638).
