Eagle Trio Earns WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

As announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Monday (July 8), three Ashland University women's golfers have earned 2018-19 All-American Scholar status.

Senior Monica Torda, junior Logan Pottorf and sophomore Sophie Hemleben all landed the honor – Pottorf and Hemleben for the second year in a row, and Torda for the first time.

The minimum cumulative grade-point average to qualify to be a WGCA All-American Scholar is 3.50. Through the 2019 spring semester, Pottorf has a 3.81 cumulative GPA, Hemleben's was 3.63, and Torda graduated with a GPA of 3.55.

In all, 11 Ashland women's golfers have earned 20 WGCA All-American Scholar awards since 2002.

A total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized as 2018-19 WGCA All-American Scholars.
