Ashland Women Start Play At FSU Fall Invite

Starting play on Saturday (Sept. 28) at the Ferris State Bulldog Fall Invitational, Ashland University's women's golf team ended the first 18 holes in sixth place in the eight-team field.

The Eagles had a team score of 336, 25 shots behind first-round leader Saginaw Valley State (311). Ferris State is second (313), followed by Lake Superior State (322).

Leading the way for the AU women on Saturday was junior Sophie Hemleben, who is tied for eighth place individually following a 7-over-par round of 79.

Both seniors Megan Pollack and Logan Pottorf fired 85s on Saturday, and each are tied for 25th. Sophomore Sophia Lowe birdied two of the first three holes, and ended tied for 34th (87), while senior Claire Coughenour is tied for 44th (95).

The second and final day of the Bulldog Fall Invitational will be played on Sunday (Sept. 29).
