Hemleben Fourth, Eagles 10th After 36 Holes At Findlay

After playing 36 holes on Monday (Oct. 7) at Findlay's William Beall Fall Classic, junior Sophie Hemleben is tied fourth place individually, while Ashland University's women's golf team as a whole is tied for 10th in the 17-team field.

Hemleben carded 72-75—147 on Day 1, including four first-round birdies, to be at 3-over par. She is three shots behind the 36-hole tri-leaders – Findlay's Meredith Wipper and Indianapolis' Cailyn Henderson and Pilar Echeverria.

Ashland as a team finished the day at 321-324—645. The Greyhounds are leading the field at 291-298—589, followed by Findlay (300-292—592).

Senior Megan Pollock came in at No. 2 for the Eagle women on Monday, ending at 80-81—161 and in 45th place. Sophomore Sophia Lowe went 83-81—164 and is tied for 51st place. Lowe's round of 81 was a career low.

Another senior, Logan Pottorf, is tied for 80th after an 86-87—173 day.

The second and final day of the William Beall Fall Classic will be Tuesday (Oct. 8) in Findlay.
