Ashland Women 10th Following Day 1 In Tennessee

The first 18 holes of the Music City Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn., are in the books, and after play on Monday (Oct. 14), Ashland University's women's golf team is in 10th place in the 13-team field.

Senior Megan Pollock led the Eagle effort on the first day, carding a 4-over-par round of 76, and is tied for 16th place individually. Pollock earned three birdies on holes No. 1, 8 and 10.

Junior Sophie Hemleben is tied for 27th at 78, while senior Logan Pottorf is at 79 and tied for 34th, to go with birdies on No. 2 and 14. Sophomore Sophia Lowe is tied for 65th with a round of 91.

Indianapolis' Pilar Echeverria is the first-round leader with a 68.

Ashland's team score of 324 is 33 shots behind Day 1 leader Indianapolis (291). Ferris State is second at 300, followed by Carson-Newman at 301.

The second and final day of the Music City Invitational will be played on Tuesday (Oct. 15).
