Eagle Women Seventh After First 18 Holes At Davenport

Starting Davenport's Panther Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 19), Ashland University's women's golf team is seventh in the 11-team field after 18 holes.

The Eagles' first-round team score of 318 is 19 shots behind first-place Tiffin (299). Wayne State is second (309), followed by Lewis and Lake Superior State (313 each).

A trio of Ashland golfers ended Saturday with matching 7-over-par rounds of 79 and in a tie for 17th place individually – junior Sophie Hemleben, senior Megan Pollock and sophomore Sophia Lowe. Lowe's round was a collegiate career-low.

Senior Logan Pottorf finished her round with an 81 and is tied for 29th, while senior Claire Coughenour's score of 86 also is a career-best. She is tied for 48th.

The Ashland women will conclude their fall season with the second and final round of the Panther Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 11 a.m.
