Eagles Lose GLIAC Opener At McKendree

Ashland University's lacrosse team opened Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday (March 15) at McKendree, losing 21-1 to the Bearcats.

Ashland's lone goal was scored by junior Sofia Michael with 3:22 to play in the game. The goal her 18th on the year, and she now has 20 points in four games.

Freshman Corynn Schneider added 10 saves for the Eagles.

The Bearcats were led offensively by senior Hannah Sugarman, who had seven goals, and sophomore Rylee Skachenko, who also found the net seven times.

The Eagles will be back in action in more GLIAC play on Sunday (March 17), as they play at Maryville at 1 p.m.
