Eagles Drop Final GLIAC Road Game Of Regular Season

Ashland University's lacrosse team lost to Northern Michigan on Saturday (April 20), 24-6.

The Wildcats got off to a quick start, leading 15-4 at the break. Ashland (4-9 overall, 3-7 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) was only able to score two goals in the second half.

AU was led offensively by junior Sofia Michael. Michael scored three goals on four shots. Freshman Cora Wilson, senior Haley Abraszek, and sophomore Rachel Lustik all added one goal apiece.

Freshman Corynn Schneider started and made two saves in the net. At halftime freshman Nadine Elbarrad entered, and and stopped four shots. 

Northern Michigan dominated the run of play, winning 24 of 31 draw controls, and cleared the ball more efficiently. The Eagles were 6-of-8 on clears, while Northern was 9-of-11.

Northern also outshot AU 38-15 in the game. The Wildcats were led by Graison Ringlever, who scored seven goals and had two assists.

The Eagles' next game will be at Ursuline on Tuesday (April 23) at 4 p.m.
