The Ashland University wrestling team closed out the regular season with a 21-19 win at West Liberty on Tuesday (Feb. 12). The win gives the Eagles an 11-6 dual meet record.
AU head coach Tim Dernlan gave the majority of his regulars the night off.
Ashland's lone pin of the night came at 125 pounds where Johnny Maurice (Bellefontaine, Ohio) won in 1:51 over Joe Wagstaff.
The Eagles won five decisions against the Hilltoppers.
Ashland returns to the mat on Feb. 23-24 when the NCAA Super Regional 2 Championships come to Kates Gymnasium.
