Ashland University's wrestling team is ranked in a tie for 20th in the nation and sixth in Super Region II in the latest Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association rankings.
Three Eagles are nationally-ranked in the third regular-season rankings of the 2015-16 season – senior Joe Brandt at 197 pounds (third), freshman Chandler Minnard at 133 (sixth) and redshirt freshman Sebastian Vidika at 125 (eighth).
Ashland boasts seven regionally-ranked grapplers, including Brandt and Minnard, who top their respective weight classes. Also in that group are Vidika (No. 2 at 125), senior Zeb Beam at (No. 4 at 157), junior Jordan Murphy (No. 4 at 174), junior Brandon O'Neill (No. 4 at 184) and junior Brent Fickel (No. 5 at 149).
The Eagles will take on No. 9-ranked Lake Erie in a home dual on Saturday (Jan. 16) at 7 p.m. The Storm is ranked No. 2 in Super Region II.
