Just four days before the Super Region Two tournament begins, the Ashland University wrestling team is ranked higher than it has been all season.

The Eagles are No. 1 in the region and No. 7 in the nation in the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Polls that were released on Friday (Feb. 17) and Monday (Feb. 20).

Redshirt senior Michael Labry is still first in the nation and region at 133 pounds, as he has been since the initial regular-season poll was released on Dec. 13. The other nationally-ranked Eagles are redshirt senior Brent Fickel (No. 3 nationally, No. 3 regionally at 149 pounds), redshirt junior Jordan Murphy (No. 10 nationally, No. 1 regionally at 184) and redshirt junior Luke Cramer (No. 9 nationally, No. 3 regionally at 197).

Rounding out the regionally-ranked wrestlers for Ashland are redshirt sophomore Sebastian Vidika (No. 4 at 125), sophomore Chandler Minnard (No. 4 at 141), sophomore Colton Ullman (No. 10 at 157), redshirt freshman Bret Romanzak (No. 6 at 165), senior Brenden Stanley (No. 10 at 174) and sophomore Deaken McCoy (No. 3 at 285).
