Ashland University's wrestling team lost its first dual of the season on Saturday (Dec. 1) at No. 8 Pitt-Johnstown, 20-12.
Coming into the dual, the Eagles were ranked No. 14 nationally and were 5-0 in duals.
The Eagle grapplers went 4-6 on the day. Earning wins were freshman Luke Wymer, who won by 2-1 decision at 133 pounds; redshirt junior Bret Romanzak, who was a 5-2 winner by decision at 165, freshman Daniel Beemer, who won by 8-4 decision at 184; and redshirt sophomore Tristen Weirich, a 5-3 winner by decision at 285 pounds.
Ashland will compete next on Saturday (Dec. 8) at West Liberty at 2 p.m.
