No. 9 Eagles Win Convincingly At Lourdes

Ashland University's wrestling team beat Lourdes convincingly on Thursday (Nov. 7) night.

The No. 9 Eagles won 29-12 against Lourdes, only dropping points in forfeited weight classes.

Redshirt senior Lawrance Dudgeon scored first for Ashland at 133 pounds with a win over Lourdes' James Balazy in a high-scoring affair, 12-7. At 149, redshirt freshman Joshua Jaeckin won a 6-3 decision against Garrett Carter. Freshman Nick Carbone also won at 157, an 8-6 decision.

Redshirt senior Christian Price was on the offensive in his 14-7 win at 165 to continue to pile onto the Eagles' point total. Redshirt senior Bret Romanzak was clinical in a 6-0 decision at 174 pounds. Junior Aidan Pasiuk didn't need much time on the mat to earn a win at 184 pounds. He won by fall at 1:18.

Redshirt sophomore Peter Abraham continued Ashland's dominance in a 10-1 major decision at 197 pounds. Junior heavyweight Tristen Weirich closed out the dual with a 10-0 major decision.

Ashland will wrestle next in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Ohio Intercollegiates on Sunday (Nov. 10) starting at 9 a.m.
