Ashland Climbs One Spot To No. 4 In Region Rankings

The Ashland University women's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 4 in the latest edition of the Midwest Region rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Oct. 24) afternoon.

The top eight teams in the Midwest Region after the conference tournaments will qualify for the NCAA Tournament with automatic bids going to the GLIAC, GLVC and G-MAC Tournaments.

The Eagles (9-3-4) are looking to qualify for their first NCAA Tournament since they went to the final four in 2004.

The next final release of the rankings will come Oct. 31 with the NCAA Tournament field being announced Nov. 5.

The Eagles conclude the regular season on Friday (Oct. 26) at 4 p.m. when they take on Saginaw Valley in a crucial game with the Cardinals. SVSU is ranked No. 6 in the region and sits two points ahead of the Eagles in the GLIAC standings.

The GLIAC Tournament will begin on Tuesday (Oct. 30).
