For the first time in 2019 and the third time in her Ashland University career, junior goalkeeper Hannah Lee has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

As announced by the GLIAC on Monday (Sept. 30) afternoon, Lee earned the honor after yielding just one goal each in road wins last week against Northwood on Friday (Sept. 27) and No. 11-ranked Ferris State on Sunday (Sept. 29). She made three saves against the Timberwolves, then stopped eight shots vs. the nationally-ranked Bulldogs.

With a 0.71 goals-against average this season, Lee is ranked third among conference goalkeepers. She also is fourth in the league with an .842 save percentage.

Lee also was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week in Weeks 2 and 3 last season. She is the second Eagle to earn a conference weekly award this fall, along with sophomore forward Faith Lewis (offensive) in Week 2.

Ashland's women's soccer team (5-1-1) will begin GLIAC play on Friday (Oct. 4) at 1 p.m. at Purdue Northwest.
