Lee Earns Second Straight GLIAC Player of the Week Honor

Ashland University junior goalkeeper Hannah Lee was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive time the league office announced on Monday (Oct. 7) afternoon.

This is the fourth career GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award for Lee, who won it twice consecutively last season.

Lee, the reigning GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year, made 14 saves and earned two shutout wins in conference play last week.

She stopped four shots in the Eagles' 2-0 win at Purdue Northwest on Friday, then followed it up by making a career-high 10 saves in the AU's 2-0 win at Parkside on Sunday.

Lee now has kept three clean sheets and allowed just three goals in six games on the season. Her goals against average of 0.48 ranks third in the GLIAC. She is fifth in the league with 30 saves.

The Eagles (7-1-1, 2-0 GLIAC) are looking to extend their four-game winning streak on Friday (Oct. 11) against Northwood. Kickoff at Ferguson Field is set for 7 p.m.
