The Ashland University tennis team got Homecoming weekend started with an 8-1 triumph over Ohio Dominican at the AU Tennis Courts on Friday (Oct. 14) afternoon.
The win was the Eagles' third in their last four outings. AU is 10-3 overall, 9-3 and in fourth place in the GLIAC.
AU won five of six singles matches and all three doubles contests. Junior Erika Sullivan (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) was a 6-2, 6-4 victor over Anita Girizd. The win gives Sullivan a 10-3 record. She is the first AU player to reach double digits in wins this season.
The GLIAC Championships are up next for the Eagles. Those will be held Oct. 21-23 in Midland, Mich.
