Ashland University head coach Carl Leedy remained optimistic after seeing his team battle closely all day against the Ohio Dominican Panthers. The Eagles were outlasted by the Panthers 6-3, but AU seemed to be playing with a lot of confidence.

Andrea Ruiz had an impressive showing in her first singles match winning 6-4, 6-0. Martina Baca also came away with a victory in second singles 6-2, 6-2.

The combo of Baca and Meghann Fitzpatrick won 8-5 over Carla Leggett and Anita Girizd in first doubles play.

AU now sits at 0-5 overall, all of which were in GLIAC play.
