Ashland University women's tennis pulled off its first sweep of the season in a 9-0 effort against Capital at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex on Saturday (Sept. 23) afternoon.

The Eagles (3-1) have won as many matches in their first four this season as they did in their previous 22 dating back to March 9, 2016.

It is also the first time the team has won three matches in a four-match span since March 5-29, 2015.

"Today was a great confidence boost for the whole team," Ashland head coach Lexi Bolesky said.

Freshman Anna Hart (No. 2 singles), sophomore Allison Brooks (No. 3) and junior Natalie Keron (No. 4) all won their individual matches 6-0, 6-0. Also picking up singles wins were sophomore Brianna Brdicka (6-0, 6-2 at No. 1), senior Elizabeth Kidd (6-3, 6-0 at No. 5) and junior Chelsea Myers (3-6, 6-1, 10-8).

Brdicka and Brooks won 8-1 in the first doubles position, Hart and freshman Camille Ringot won 8-2 in the No. 2 spot, and Keron teamed up with freshman Hazuki Ogino for an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

The Eagles finish a five-match home stand on Friday (Sept. 29) against conference opponent Tiffin.

"We are ready to have a great week of practice to prepare for a tough weekend versus strong conference opponents," Bolesky said.

Order of finish – DOUBLES: 1, 2, 3… SINGLES: 3, 1, 4, 2, 5, 6
