Ashland University women's tennis, now off to a 3-2 start, suffered its first loss in two weeks at home against Tiffin on Friday (Sept. 29).

The Eagles lost to the Dragons (4-0), 9-0. It's their first time being shutout since March 10 of the 2016-17 season.

"Today came down to who wanted it more," Ashland head coach Lexi Bolesky said.

AU sophomore Allison Brooks suffered her first singles loss of the season in the No. 6 spot. She's now 4-1 on the season. Freshman Camille Ringot had the best singles showing for Ashland on the afternoon, losing 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth position.

On the doubles side, Eagle freshmen Sofie Garpered and Hazuki Ogino lost, 8-3. That was the closest doubles match on the day.

"Tiffin is a very deep and talented team," Bolesky said. "We are not satisfied with this result and are looking forward to improving tomorrow."

AU travels for the first time this season to take on Wayne State on Saturday (Sept. 30) at noon.
