Eagles Show Promise In Loss Against FSU

Over the past three seasons, Ashland University women's tennis scored a total of one point against Ferris State.

On Sunday (Oct. 15) morning, the Eagles (3-7 overall, 1-7 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athietic Conference) lost, 7-2. That's their best showing against the Bulldogs (4-4, 4-4) since they beat them, 5-4, on Oct. 12, 2013.

The AU wins came during the singles portion of the day from sophomore Allison Brooks and junior Natalie Keron.

Brooks won 6-4, 6-3, at No. 5 to earn her team-best fifth singles victory of the season. Keron won 6-3, 6-0, in the sixth position to up her team-high singles winning percentage to .750 this fall.

The Eagles will not play in Ashland again in the fall. They'll wrap up their regular season with a chance to clinch a GLIAC Tournament birth in matches at Purdue Northwest on Friday (Oct. 20) and Davenport on Saturday (Oct. 21).
