Eagles Fall To GVSU, Brooks Earns All-GLIAC Honor

In its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament match since 2013, Ashland University women's tennis lost to Grand Valley State, 5-0, in the quarterfinals on Friday (Oct. 27) night at the Greater Midland Tennis Center in Midland, Mich.

Prior to the match, Eagles sophomore Allison Brooks was named an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention. She is 7-5 in singles matches and 2-5 in doubles this season.

Freshmen Anna Hart and Hazuki Ogino played the closest singles match for AU on Friday, losing 8-3 in the second spot.

Hart also played the closest singles match, losing 6-2 at No. 5.

The Eagles play Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (Oct. 28) at 3:35 p.m. Winner plays in the fifth-place match on Sunday (Oct. 29) at 8:15 a.m., and the loser plays in the seventh-place match at the same time.
