Ashland Women Lose Match To Unbeaten 'Wolves

The Ashland University women's tennis team lost to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Northwood on Saturday (Oct. 6).

The unbeaten Timberwolves (5-0) won a 7-0 decision over the Eagles.

In doubles play, junior Brianna Brdicka and sophomore Anna Hart battled to a 7-6 loss in their match. They were able to take the match to the last point of the tiebreak game before the Timberwolves claimed the win.

Hart also had a close match in the fourth slot in singles play. She lost 6-4, 6-4, in two sets that nearly went her way.

"The girls competed tough today against a strong undefeated team," said Ashland head coach Lexi Bolesky. "We are improving, and our work on the practice court is showing. We are excited for the opportunity to get back out on the courts tomorrow."

The Eagles play next on Sunday (Oct. 7) at 9 a.m. at home at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex against Saginaw Valley State.
